Tree that came down and clipped the power cables to the house.
An epic wind storm hit the Island, damaging homes and cars. Two friends mentioned how close they came to getting squashed by falling branches and trees. Many were without power for two weeks or so as hydro crews worked around the clock to get the Island up and running. We had no power for ten long days. Partway through, we obtained a generator so we had intermittent power but use of the generator resulted waiting in the line-up at the gas station to get gas. Thankfully, the grocery store was open and well-stocked. Days were spent obtaining supplies, getting gas, and prepping food before it got too dark in the kitchen (3pm).
